About BOCC

The Board of College Councils serves to oversee the funding and the operations of more than 300 academic student organizations on the UF campus. Nearly every academic discipline at UF has an aligned student organization that provides academic, professional, and social opportunities beyond those available in the classroom.

First and foremost, our mission is ACADEMIC. The funds we receive from the Student Senate are used in numerous ways to support and enhance academic life. For instance, BOCC supports on-campus speakers in specialized fields, helps in funding various student publications, assists students in securing travel funding to attend conferences, and participates in numerous other on-campus academic activities.

How we fit into Student Government at UF
Approximately $12 million in student fees is split into three nearly equal amounts:

Student Government, which is led by the Executive Branch and Student Senate, is made up of four main parts:

Directly responsible for more than 300 student academic groups which are organized into twenty college councils and one interdisciplinary assembly, BOCC immediately serves more groups than any other administrative body within Student Government. Our aim is to assist students in creating and implementing ways to enhance academic life at UF.
