The Board of College Councils is the umbrella structure responsible for the funding and the organization of the College Council system at the University of Florida. The College Council system was founded in 1974 and is comprised of 20 different college councils with over 300 specialized groups. Organizations in the College Council system strive to enhance the undergraduate and graduate experience through local programing and travel to national conferences. These programs range from building a formula one race car to attracting speakers from industry. These organizations also sponsor trips to help graduate students present and defend their work at national conferences. The main benefits to the Student Body are the practical and ‘real world’ experience students will gain from participation in the Academic Organizations that serve their colleges.
